Auston Marsteller lured first place at S. Tokunaga Store’s Ulua Challenge with a 117.2-pound catch.

There were 637 participants, including 330 participating in the barbless category and 151 in the tagging division.

The youngest angler was 8 years old.

Guest speakers included Kurt Kawamoto from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, who talked about releasing unwanted catches by using barbless hooks. Neil Kanemoto from the Pacific Island Fisheries Group talked about fish conservation.

John Branco’s 105.9-pound ulua took second. Ryan Chow’s 103.9-pound ulua took third.
